The book Frack this! is motivated for a simple reason, to inform the public about why human-caused earthquakes occur and what and who causes them. The public is very often unaware of the risks of living close to fracking facilities, mines, water reservoirs, and other geoengineering projects. Not even students in science and engineering classes are comprehensively taught that mines, water reservoirs, deep geothermal power plants, oil/gas production, and agricultural irrigation can cause earthquakes. Governments and leading corporations do not want to tackle this topic and oftentimes choose to ignore it. Without opposing any of these technologies rather than illuminating associated risks, this book provides knowledge for everyone who is affected by or wants to know more about earthquakes caused by humans.
